Jacques Torres Chocolate:  66 Water St., Brooklyn NY 11201
Like stepping into a small European specialty store.  The store is
filled with yummy hand-made treats, with three small café tables
encouraging you to sit, sip iced chocolate and enjoy a freshly
baked pain au chocolat.  The chocolate "factory" is visible through
large windows from inside the store and from the street level.

One Girl Cookies:  68 Dean St., Brooklyn NY 11201

The Skyscraper Museum
Current Exhibit: Urban Fabric-- Building New York's Garment
District

The largest concentration of high-rise factories, the 18 blocks at
the heart of New York's Garment District once supported more
than 100,000 manufacturing jobs and produced nearly 3/4 of all
American women's and children's apparel. Developed almost
entirely in the boom decade of the 1920s, this dense, teeming
area of west midtown-from 35th to 41st Streets and from Seventh
to Ninth Avenues-has a rich, but little-known history, examined for
the first time in this engaging exhibit.

The Skyscraper Museum is in lower Manhattan at 39 Battery Place.
Hours are 12-6pm, Wed-Sun. Admission is $5, or $2.50 for
students and seniors.
